Associate Maintenance Manager (Karawang Based) – Chemical Manufacture Industry
Talent Hunts Indonesia is an Executive Search Agency based in Jakarta, currently working with a leading Chemical Manufacture company in Karawang, who are looking for a highly strategic and technically adept Associate Maintenance Manager. Operating on a General Shift scheme and reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, this leadership role is responsible for driving the Maintenance Department's vision, optimizing equipment reliability, and governing utility systems across a complex process manufacturing plant. The position demands a seasoned mechanical engineer who can balance advanced preventive/predictive maintenance planning with strict Process Safety Management (PSM) and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive leadership experience in chemical or process manufacturing plants, bringing strong expertise in SAP PM and continuous improvement methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Department Strategy & Vision: Develop and implement the Maintenance Department's long-term vision, operational strategies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and key performance objectives.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and mentor the maintenance engineering and technician teams through goal setting, structured competency development, and performance management.
- Asset Reliability & Maintenance: Plan, prioritize, and monitor daily preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to maximize plant equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Utility Systems Management: Oversee and guarantee the continuous, stable, and reliable operation of critical utility systems (including electricity, steam, compressed air, water, and gas).
- Work Order & Vendor Coordination: Manage active maintenance work orders, structural repair schedules, and third-party contractor activities on-site.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead detailed equipment inspections, perform structural Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures, and implement decisive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Engineering & RAGAGEP Compliance: Support engineering projects, plant modifications, and new equipment installations in strict compliance with engineering standards and RAGAGEP (Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices) principles.
- Budget Planning & Cost Control: Prepare, monitor, and control the annual maintenance budget while actively driving cost optimization and lean operations.
- System Compliance & EHS: Secure full department compliance with Quality Management Systems, GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery), EHS regulations, and company-wide risk management requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in maintenance within the chemical, petrochemical, process, or heavy manufacturing industry, including 5–7 years in a clear managerial or leadership role.
- Deep technical expertise in:
Maintenance Management & Reliability Engineering.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance frameworks.
SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) systems.
PLC, SCADA, and industrial automation networks.
Budget Planning & Cost Control.
RAGAGEP and Process Safety Management (PSM) principles.
- Good familiarity with GMP, ISO 9001, and ISO 37001 management systems.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Strong analytical thinking, mechanical troubleshooting, and decision-making capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid professional certifications in Reliability Engineering, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Project Management (PMP), or Process Safety are a distinct advantage.
