Culinary Chef – Cake Specialist (Pekanbaru Based)

Talent Hunts Indonesia is an Executive Search Agency based in Jakarta, currently working with F&B and bakery brand in Pekanbaru, who are looking for talent for their Culinary Chef – Cake Specialist. This position will be responsible for leading the cake production process — from recipe development and baking to decoration and presentation. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in pastry arts, excellent creative flair, and a proven track record of producing both aesthetically stunning and delicious cakes. You will play a key role in elevating the brand’s cake offerings and supporting the team to deliver premium quality for every occasion.

Job Description:

  • Design and execute custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, and special occasions with exceptional attention to detail and aesthetics.
  • Develop, test, and refine cake recipes to maintain consistent quality and flavor.
  • Oversee the full baking process—from mixing and baking to decoration and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety standards.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely delivery and presentation.
  • Create production schedules aligned with customer demand and event timelines.
  • Mentor and guide junior bakers, sharing techniques and promoting best practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a pastry chef or cake decorator in a professional kitchen or bakery.
  • Formal training in culinary arts or pastry (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Proficient in advanced cake decorating techniques including fondant, buttercream, royal icing, and sculpting.
  • Strong recipe development and flavor balancing skills.
  • Capable of executing both traditional and modern cake styles.
  • High level of creativity, attention to detail, and artistic ability.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Good team collaboration skills and leadership potential.
  • Passionate about culinary innovation and delivering memorable customer experiences.
