Factory Manager (Semarang Based) – Garment & Label Manufacturing Industry
Talent Hunts Indonesia is an Executive Search Agency based in Jakarta, currently working with a leading international textile and garment manufacturing corporation, who are looking for a highly strategic and execution-driven Factory Manager to lead their production facilities in Semarang, Central Java. Reporting directly to the General Manager Indonesia, this leadership role is responsible for providing operational vision across all production workshops, driving manufacturing strategies focused on Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Efficiency (QDCE). The position demands a data-driven leader with deep familiarity in lean manufacturing frameworks, garment/label production technologies, and localized labor regulations to ensure an agile, compliant, and highly productive manufacturing floor.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee all core facets of factory operations, including day-to-day production planning, scheduling, capacity management, and resource allocation to ensure safe, highly efficient workflows.
- Strategic Production Planning: Devise and implement advanced manufacturing tactics to meet rigorous quality indicators, optimize raw material yield, and boost overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Talent Sourcing & Development: Recruit, manage, and continuously train specialized shop floor and workshop talent across multiple technical production lines (including PFL, HTL, Paper Printing, Thermal, and RFID processing).
- Quality Strategy & Systems Sourcing: Design, deploy, and implement standard quality protocols. Assess existing QA/QC frameworks to drive a robust corporate quality culture and minimize end-product defect rates.
- Client Relations & Complaint Management: Maintain active communication with regional and international customers to understand custom product requirements; lead internal troubleshooting and immediate remediation whenever quality complaints arise.
- Lean Manufacturing & 5S: Facilitate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) straight to the floor plan, leading continuous improvement initiatives and championing strict 5S workplace organizational methodologies.
- Data-Driven Analysis: Analyze production downtime and quality non-conformance; execute thorough root-cause analysis (RCA), build case studies, and deploy sustainable corrective actions.
Budgeting & Compliance Management: Partner with senior leadership to define project implementation plans and annual manufacturing budgets while ensuring the entire site remains fully compliant with Indonesian labor, environment, and local corporate regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Industrial Engineering, Textile Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of solid experience in production operations, with at least 2 years directly serving in a clear managerial capacity.
- Mandatory Industry Experience: Proven track record working within Label Manufacturing, Garment Manufacturing, or Apparel/Textile Production facilities.
- Direct exposure to specialized automated garment/trimming methodologies (such as RFID insertion, Thermal printing, PFL, or HTL lines) is highly advantageous.
- Fluent in English is a strict requirement (both verbal and written) to facilitate direct operational and strategy reporting to regional headquarters.
- Proficient in applying Lean Manufacturing principles, tracking production KPIs, and driving factory-level budget control.
- Deep understanding of local Indonesian labor laws, occupational safety (K3), and local industrial regulations in Central Java.
